DEVILS ADVOCATE
Inspect the reasoning behind a counterpoint.
A source is a starting point for scrutiny. Its relevance to your situation still needs examination.
What reviewed evidence means
The current collection contains nine reviewed records and twelve stored excerpts. Records include source location, author or publisher, work, edition or pinned version, supported claims and limitations. Business coverage is concentrated in software and AI-evaluation material; it does not cover every industry, country or customer segment.
How citations are checked
A generated citation must refer to reviewed material retrieved for that response. Exact quotes must match permitted stored excerpts, and sourced counterpoint text must match a supported curated claim. Paraphrases are labeled separately. These mechanical checks reduce fabricated references; they do not certify every interpretation or guarantee that a comparison fits your circumstances.
When the collection has a gap
The app should explain when relevant reviewed evidence is missing rather than invent a failed company, quotation or historical fact. Homepage sample debates are scripted illustrations and are not additional reviewed evidence. Inspect the visible source context and limitations in a real conversation, then verify consequential factual claims independently.
Current reviewed collection
These records support specific claims. Read their limitations before applying them to another situation.
RethinkDB is shutting down
Slava Akhmechet · RethinkDB is shutting down · Official repository source at pinned commit
- Founder announcement establishes company shutdown and sustainability issue, not a particular pricing, distribution or customer-demand cause. This is a developer-tools case, not evidence about Indian food delivery or consumer demand.
On Liberty
John Stuart Mill · On Liberty · Walter Scott Publishing Co. edition with W. L. Courtney introduction; print year not stated in inspected header; Gutenberg #34901 release 2011-01-10
- Understanding one's view requires serious engagement with opposing arguments; this is a philosophical position, not empirical proof that opposition improves every decision.
On Liberty
John Stuart Mill · On Liberty · Walter Scott Publishing Co. edition with W. L. Courtney introduction; print year not stated in inspected header; Gutenberg #34901 release 2011-01-10
- Mill contrasts choosing one's own plan with conforming to others. Applying this to a specific career/life decision is an interpretation, not a command to ignore obligations.
Meditations
Marcus Aurelius · Meditations · Meric Casaubon translation prepared by comparison of 1634/1635 editions, with alterations noted in text; Gutenberg #2680 release June 2001, posted 2008-12-25
- The passage asks for readiness to change mistaken beliefs on reasonable grounds, alongside action for common benefit. Archaic edition; its section numbering can differ from modern editions.
Utilitarianism
John Stuart Mill · Utilitarianism · Seventh edition, Longmans, Green, and Co., London, 1879; Gutenberg #11224 release 2004-02-22
- A utilitarian position relating rightness to happiness and pain; do not present it as consensus or a verdict about an individual choice.
Atom official project README
GitHub / Atom project · Atom official project README · Official repository source at pinned commit
- Optional product-retirement case. Atom is not a failed startup and GitHub did not close. This README states no economic cause; reasons must remain unknown until linked official blog can be inspected. Do not infer lack of product-market fit, losses, willingness to pay, or distribution failure.
Why evaluate agents
Google, Agent Development Kit documentation · Why evaluate agents · Official repository source at pinned commit; publication date not asserted
- Provider documentation recommends evaluation practices; it is not an independent benchmark, customer-demand study, guarantee of agent quality, or evidence that an AI-evaluation business will succeed or fail.
- Voice-AI applicability is a question for the user's own task, dataset and operating conditions; this passage does not evaluate speech recognition, latency, accent coverage, privacy compliance or any particular voice product.
Evaluation Criteria: lexical matching and rubric judging
Google, Agent Development Kit documentation · Evaluation Criteria: lexical matching and rubric judging · Official repository source at pinned commit; publication date not asserted
- This documents particular ADK criteria at one pinned version; a score is a result under the chosen metric and reference or rubric, not a universal truth or a product-safety certification.
- The excerpt does not establish judge error rates, unbiasedness, causality, benchmark accuracy, pricing, or the superiority of any vendor. Majority voting is a documented implementation choice, not proof that judgments are correct.
Dioptra: reproducible and traceable AI experiments
US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) · Dioptra: reproducible and traceable AI experiments · Official repository source at pinned commit; publication date not asserted
- These are the project's stated properties, not an independent audit or a guarantee that any experiment will reproduce. The introduction says Dioptra supports the NIST AI RMF Measure function; citing this README does not establish conformance to the whole framework.
- This does not establish demand, margins, regulatory compliance, sensitive-data permissions, or whether an AI-evaluation startup will succeed. NIST does not endorse this app or the user's business.
